What are wood pellets?
Wood pellets are currently one of the most promising household fuels.
It is purely ecological fuel, which is mainly produced from waste wood residues, by compressing wood dust, sawdust, etc.
So it is a compact of fine wood material into the shape of rollers with a diameter of 6 – 8 mm and a length of up to 500 mm.
The shape and cohesiveness of the pellets is achieved thanks to a modern technological process that plasticizes a substance called lignin (contained in the input material, ie wood) and thus replaces the function of a chemical binder. In addition, lignin also partially fulfills the function of moisture protection during storage.
Pellets can have different colors and different properties depending on the quality of the input material and the correct manufacturing process.
Why wood pellets?
- Maximum environmental friendliness
- independence from the supply of increasingly expensive fossil fuels such as coal or gas
- heating comfort – almost comparable to an electric boiler or gas boiler
- Compact and easy to handle
- State aid for the acquisition of a biomass boiler
- ash can be used as garden fertilizer.
